Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded by 22 collegiate women
at Howard University on January 13, 1913. The Founders were committed to
building an organization that would bond Sorors together towards a virtuous life and
serious commitment to community service. Today there are over 250,000 members in
950 chapters, 47 states, Haiti, Liberia, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, the Caribean,
Germany, England, the Republic of Panama, Japan, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea.
